A 5-month cross-disciplinary programme which brings together 60 UAL students to prototype creative responses to the things young people care about.

Blending futures-thinking with radical cross- disciplinary collaboration the programme aims to critically understand and shape how emerging technologies might transform our lives.

In the maelstrom of rapid technological change and social, political, and economic anxieties UAL Futures exists to empower students to thrive in a world in flux.

Our mission is to help students better understand cultural and technological patterns affecting the present – so that collectively we might imagine and invent better futures.

Our purpose as educators is to better understand the attitudes, behaviours, and anxieties driving young people, so that we can better design student experience.

Around futures-thinking we bring people together to understand and shape how emerging technologies impact the things we care about.

Through radical collaboration students gain digital skills, creative attributes and interdisciplinary agility for digitally connected Futures.

Futures Studios are our platform to bring people together to prototype creative responses to wicked technological, social, economic, political, environmental and cultural drivers. Through the studios we gather insights, identify patterns, explore future scenarios and co-design student experiences.
